A day trip to Taman Pertanian 农业公园一日游

This is a beautiful day, nice weather...nice place...nice people...

Towards the end of 2009, coming to a new start of 2010, Kah Sing chose this day, Dec 27th, to have our last holiday trip of the year. Without prior planning, we decided our destination ......Taman Pertanian, Shah Alam. Unfortunately, we had to sacrifize our Sunday Worship Service on this beautiful day.

I called up my 16 year- old niece, Xiong Yan to join us. No early plan, we did not prepare "picnic food" in advance. Our breakfast was just "char sau bao","dou sa bao" and "jia yang bao", my pitiful kids....

We arrived at about 10:30am. What a big crowd today! Many people chose outdoor activities on this beautiful day, that is good! The youngster came for cycling activity. Many of them.

Our first drop point was the Skytrex Adventure Park, equipped with various type of physical challenges. Yong Zhen, my 5 year- old son was very excited to see all the activities here. But we know he is only able to perform well on the swinging slide. A tenage girl was stucked on the canopy walk, challenged by balancing bridge to get to her next destination. Her mother was down there shouting and encouraging her, but the girl was trembling on the balancing bridge.
I asked Kah Sing if he could take this challenge, he said "Of course I can do this without any problem!" So confident. But I think I will shake just like the girl who is shaking now. We left this park without participating in any of the activities, because the activities without early booking is only opened after 12:30pm.

The following visit we followed western side on the map. This Taman is too big that we could not visit all in a day. We stopped by a few view points only, by foot and by bus.

Animal garden, not much to see, son started to make noise because he could not feed the rabbit as he had wished.

Later, we walked all the way to the 4 season house. Due to too many visitors today, we had to queue and wait outside the "house". (At this time, I received a call from my eldest sister telling me there were 2 broke-in cases happened to my neighbourhood yesterday, at day time. What a shocking news!) Some people jumped queue and was complained by other people. Of course, we need to be fair to others. This is good lesson for our small kids.

The theme is WINTER now. Wow, really cold inside! Fortunately Xiong Yan brought a jacket (to protect herself from hot sun) which I used it to cover my 3 year- old daughter Zi Ching. Yong Zhen and I also could not stand the cold air and we quickly moved out. We just stayed for a few minutes inside. Later I asked Yong Zhen :" Do you still want to go ice skiing overseas?" He said NO, ha ha.

We left the 4 seasons house and walked to Far View Tower "Menara Pandang Jauh". I was glad Xiong Yan was able to join us. She was taking care of Zi Ching throughout the trip. It made my burden lighter. Thanks, Xiong Yan.

At the time we reached the tower, it started to rain. Thank God it was not raining too heavily. We still managed to climb up the tower, and took a shade up there. The scene in the rain was so beautiful, romantic! I like it very much. However, son continued to disturb his father wanting to go down to find food and wanted to go back to Skytrex. It was already 1.10pm.

I always have an umbrella in my bag, now it was time to show my readiness is always helpful. The 5 of us, with one umbrella and one jacket, stepped down the tower slowly and walked towards the main road to catch the park bus.

At the waiting area, I found a leech sucking blood on my leg. Ah, quickly checked out son and daughter, thank God, none except me. Kah Sing helped me to remove the leech, it was just a small one. My leg started bleeding. I ignored it.

The bus came, we continued our journey all the way to the last stop at north-Sg. Baru Dam (Empangan Sg. Baru). Very few visitors wanted to get down here, but we did. The rain had stopped. Lunch time was almost over and we did not prepare food for kids. The worst thing, there was no food stall over there. If we want to find one, we had to wait for the bus to go outside. What can we do?

There was a small stall selling ice cream and drinks there, Kah Sing bought few ice creams for the kids and himself. He said the ice cream is milk. What a daddy like this? Later he was amazingly seeing MAMEE fast noodle at a side. Ha ha, he seemed like meeting with his loved one, very happy and excited, so we have 5 MAMEE for our lunch. I said to Kah Sing we must have a delicious and nutritious dinner tonight.

We did not regret we had visited the dam. When we got onto the hill, we found a beautiful lake with very nice view, in mandarin, can say this is a 世外桃源(shi wai taon yuan).

There were some fish ponds, my kids could feed the fishes. There was another group of youngster enjoying the fish feeding. A pakcik there showed off "bare hand caught fish" 空手抓鱼 to the youngster. We also enjoyed watching. Indeed, we have a wonderful time spending here.

We started waiting for bus coming at 3.30pm. We waited and waited, but did not have one bus arrived. At this time, I found my leg still bleeding. Finally I got a handiplast from Xiong Yan to cover the wound.

Kids played with wild flower, self photo shooting. I felt thankful to God because we have such a nice trip today-nice weather, beautiful scene, happy kids....

We waited until 4:15pm and still do not see any bus coming, so we decided to walk, hopefully could meet the bus on our way. Thanks God, my little boy and girl still can walk and no complaint from them. We walked and at the same time enjoyed the view. We had fresh air, we could see clean water running on the river. When we saw a bus was coming to our way, we happily got into the bus. My girl slept sweetly on my arms. Tiring. My son concentrated viewing the scenery.

At 5:10pm, we left Taman Pertanian. It was a refreshing and joyful trip. We will come again.
